Take your study of the American Revolution a step further by having your students create newspapers summarizing their understanding of the American Revolution. I have found that writing is less intimidating for students when it is broken into smaller chunks and it “looks” different. Thus, the idea for Social Studies topic-based “newspapers” where students are given the role of a reporter about the subject being taught. The standards and essential questions are a part of each newspaper so that students know exactly what information to include. There is a portion for a descriptive picture and a short caption for each essential question. These are excellent for a review! If you like these, check out my other Colonial America products!
