Students are asked to cut out each sentence or picture and decide whether it fits with the category of the axis, constellation, crescent moon, quarter moon, new moon, full moon, equator, moon phases, phases of the moon, revolve, rotate, season, star, waning moon, and waxing moon. They then glue under the correct heading on the included sheet OR paste into a science interactive journal. An answer key is included for easy grading. Sorts are the perfect way for my students to practice what they know! Make sure that your students are able to tell the difference between some of the key terms and vocabulary involved in this important topic. This would be a perfect assessment or interactive notebook activity after teaching space.
